Unfortunately I'm far too familiar with underposted 55 MPH divided highways. I was just in Cheasapeake last week actually, but didn't use that stretch of highway. One that stood out to me as silly was I-64 dropping from 60 (which is already underposted IMO, though maybe all the cloverleafs make it justified) to 55 at the Virginia Beach/Chesapeake city limits (going into VB), for really no reason I can see. Flow of traffic is pretty much 65-75, so yeah.

Here's mine. It's MPH. Sorry for the GSV crap on the screen.

Virginia tends to sign many divided highways at 55 when they could be 60, like US 17 on the Peninsula.
Any specific examples of where? US-17 has been 60 mph between Saluda and Port Royal (where it intersects US-301 and then narrows to 2 lanes) except through towns for many years already, and then back in 2019, they increased the segment between Saluda and Gloucester from 55 mph to 60 mph, extending that zone further south about 10-15 miles. The segment between Gloucester and Yorktown is more justifiable at 55 mph (or lower in areas), IMO, due to development, traffic signals, etc.

In all reality, US-17 north of Gloucester should be 65 mph, but 60 mph is more reasonable than 55 mph, and all that is technically permitted under state law. In fact, state law only permitted a 60 mph limit on US-17 north of Saluda until it was changed in 2018 to allow all of US-17 (where four lanes divided) to be eligible. That is what led to the segment down to Gloucester being raised the next year.

Yup, same here, especially in South Hampton Roads (they bumped an urbanized 8 lane segment of I-64 on the Peninsula from 60 mph to 65 mph back in 2018 - nice, but could they do more?). I know where you're talking about, just before the Indian River exit, and agreed, that whole stretch from at least I-264 in Norfolk all the way to Bowers Hill should be 65 mph. State police love to wait out in that median opening where it drops from 60 mph to 55 mph, but traffic often still flows by at 65-70 mph and they don't bat an eye.

I-664 is what feels like a rural design for most of its course in South Hampton Roads, and is painfully slow at 60 mph as well. Traffic is often moving at a minimum of 70 mph, often closer to 80 mph. Speed limit should be 65 mph there. Same with I-264 in Virginia Beach, wide open 8 lane highway (comparable to that Peninsula segment of I-64 they bumped to 65 mph), 55 mph, universally ignored.

The city of Chesapeake maintains both the VA-168 Chesapeake Expressway freeway and all of the US-17 expressway / freeway south of I-64, which has led to the 55 mph limit not being updated to at least 60 mph (should be 65 mph on both). The city changed the ordinance back in 2015 to allow 65 mph to be posted on limited access highways maintained by the city, with plans to implement such on VA-168, but did not carry forth with a speed study because it would be a "waste of money". The city acknowledged the speed limit was universally ignored in discussions when making this decision, and felt it wasn't necessary to remedy it if it's "not an issue" now. I suppose the city's non-existent enforcement on both corridors help it be less of an issue - it's not necessarily a speed trap per se - and when city police is present, they're often moving 70+ mph as well without batting an eye. But I still feel the city is not being appropriate conducting the needed traffic study to examine conditions on both corridors and update the speeds accordingly. Speed limits should be posted to reflect 85th percentile conditions - which the city has said about city roads in general and the whole spiel about how too low limits can cause hazards between slower and faster drivers, etc. and it just makes me wonder - then why haven't you even bothered to study VA-168 or US-17?

I'll go with 65 mph.

You got it, that was quick  It's US-20 near Juntura, OR (between Burns and Ontario). One of many rural 2 laners in the eastern half of the state that used to be 55, then got mercifully bumped to a reasonable 65 in 2016.

I was going to guess 50 before seeing the prior guess. I guess I thought that the curve meant that the speed limit would be lower.

Ah, I was close.  It's 410 in Sumner, right?  55.

I always bypass that area with WA-164 when I go to Crystal.

No guessing for 24 hours after a previous guess, but I'll give you a pass this time.

Yep, that's it! 55. But hey, rule breaker!

Only posted since it's the only 55 mph freeway in Western Washington. If not all of Washington.

Kek Inc. is up next, but I will be less tolerant towards rule-breakers in the future.

I think the best way to deal with rule-breakers: they aren't allowed to post the next picture. Or whoever posted the gussed picture gets to post again.

Not saying this to give myself another go. This would start with the next rule-break.

Yes, I will add this to the rules. Kek can still post a picture.
