Just curious as to why SK 18? Most of it is thin membrane surface (especially west of SK 35) and I understand some sections are allowed to revert back to gravel. In other jurisdictions it would probably be a secondary highway.

The Official Saskatchewan Road Map shows thin membrane surface highways; https://www.tourismsaskatchewan.com/about-saskatchewan/travel-guides-and-maps.
Would you say that it would be insane to drive on the membrane?  Insane in the brain?

I also learned of the term "mebrane surface", so a two-for-one post.

Forgot this one from before I joined:

yes, Clearview is a lot nicer than Arial, or "My Mommy Works Here Sans".

:sombrero:

a brown object that I, ahem, manufactured this morning also looks better than "My Mommy Works Here Sans" so don't get your hopes too high up!

From the "Michigan Notes" thread:

Lord Carhorn's law: As an online discussion grows longer (regardless of topic or scope), the probability of a Wallethub ranking approaches 1.

I don't think Carly Fiorina has discussed her positions on oregano.

Some of the longer threads were not created by the user that you think. 1 created FritzOwl in one thread.

They probably didn't mean it in reference to the forum member, but hey, these things are hard to translate sometimes. And it's Revelation, so who knows?

I used to work for the company that publishes the NLT.  I met Dr Kenneth Taylor (author of the original The Living Bible) several times before his death.  One of his sons was chief editor for the NLT, and I can say with a decent amount of confidence, having also met him a few times, that the team of translators did not have any members of this forum in mind when the NLT went to press.

A no-doubt hall-of-famer:

It wouldn't even have been necessary to say something asshole-ish like "Because you were an asshole"--a formulation like "In our judgment, your posts fail to contribute to comity on the forum" would have sufficed.

You must admit, that has to be the most polite post containing profanity that's ever been posted.  Jonathan is truly a master of the English language.

But while also putting you in your place for suggesting the mods do something "asshole-ish". Exactly why I posted it here as soon as I read it.  :sombrero:

Yes, I almost said that.  But I wasn't 100% sure if Jonathan was wagging his finger at me or simply putting his tongue in his cheek.

I think this forum is more immune from the Dunning-Kruger effect compared to the normal.

I do not claim any expertise on the accuracy of that sentiment.

The plot of “How To Train Your Troll:”

Does anyone seriously believe MMM wasn’t a troll at this point on the basis of his own post content?  If you were on the fence how is a second hand account from someone credible like 1 not enough evidence?
Problem was not with the troll, but with his zookepers.
A well-trained properly maintained troll, who is not ofed on a regular basis,  grows long white fur and doesn't bite people around him.

I used Latex for a while.  Kinda fun, quite a learning curve.  I'm glad it's still around.
This was too perfect to not take out of context.  Capitalization is important, because my mind immediately went somewhere other than the text markup language.
