I-394, continues as the US 12 freeway for about five miles to Long Lake, then a s a super 2 for a few more miles bypassing Long Lake.

Virtually every Interstate ends as a freeway.  A notable exception is I-180 in WY, since it's not a freeway at all.

How about we make a list of Interstates that end before the freeway ends?  In other words, Interstates that continue as non-Interstate freeways.

I-235 (Kansas), northern terminus

I-235 (Oklahoma), northern terminus, too.

I-235 (Iowa) also ends and continues as a freeway on both ends, though in this case the freeway continues as a 2di, so it technically doesn't qualify for this list.

I-280 near Toledo ends onto a state highway (OH-420), which is not a potato.
Don’t ask me how I know.  Just understand that I do.

At any rate, I-265 in Kentucky's western terminus is at I-65. The freeway continues as KY 841. KY 841 ends at US 31W/US 60 but the route continues as a surface highway under another number.

I-471 officially ends at I-275. The freeway continues as unsigned KY 471 a short distance to intersect US 27 at a traffic signal.

I-78 is still technically a freeway on the east end of the tunnel.  Doesn't it have like 4 exits (with VERY short offramps) within 2 blocks?

And as for I-81, do the median crossings at the border checks really count?
