I grew up in Bolingbrook, mostly before the Southern Extension opened (which this pic is a part of), but I've driven 355/North-South/Veterans' Memorial Tollway a bunch, as have many Western Suburbanites.

Now coming up from Southern IL to visit family near O'Hare, I still like to get over to 355 and go up that way vs the Tri-State, tho the 57/294 interchange does help for that route

How many other agencies, beyond ISTHA, even use the longer lane stripe? NJTA, ITR, and I'm not sure on any others

Off course, I-355 has the greatest 3di Controls ever: Suburbs! (Tho IDOT did "greenout"  that one). "Northwest Suburbs"  and "Southwest Suburbs"  are still posted
