FWJ is too focused on Buc-ee's to bother with Illinois centric videos these days.

Didn't FWJ give you the business about not cropping your windshield or having too much glare?

He told me to eliminate the dashboard which since has been done. Any other videos I filmed that are older but haven't yet produced with the dashboard will have it cropped out since I found that it doesn't impact the quality that much.

In your defense, I do find FWJ is way too anal about photo/video quality.  Doubly so when they allow people to spam posts about things like Buc-ee's and other weird fandoms in the road world.  The site is a little light on factoids and topics of historical relevance.  All the same, I get it that FWJ is kind of a popcorn road page and doesn't really cater to much beyond that.

I don't think Jim actually travels all that much.  The gist I've always gotten is when he does travel it usually is for distance and he takes videos along the way.  The FWJ Facebook page is far more about his other admins and group members posting their own stuff.

Being anal about video quality is why FWJ is the best road youtuber (on the rare occasions when he uploads, anyways)

The FWJ videos are fine, the video quality is really solid.  The roads FWj tends to feature are a little mainstream for my tastes and is pretty lite on the history.  That's why I tend to prefer Interstate Kyle since he goes for more stuff that is of interest to me for stand alone behind the wheel videos.

Regarding the photo quality on the FWJ group page, I don't know why they bother enforcing that with member posts.  Some of the posting quality my members can be really low and IMO far worse than a photo with some dashboard or windshield glare.  I stay because it's a mainstream page, but how many Cracker Barrel and Buc-ee's posts are really necessary?

Roadwaywiz is the only but channel that really hits historic context as a primary focus in the webinar series.  Then again I'm trying to not sound biased given I've been part of the panel on several webinar episodes.

It's not so much the rules, it's the overzealous enforcement like they're blowing up every photo to thoroughly check for the slightest hint of glare or dashboard vent so Jim can unload on you with his complete lack of tact.

But yet others can continually post about Buc-ee's opening somewhere every third user post.  That seems like an odd set of priorities for what is supposed to be a road group.  I would figure the admins would just mind their own photo quality and encourage road oriented discussion from the member base regardless of how well they may/may not take photos.

Amusingly I was totally indifferent to Buc-ee's until a bunch of fanboys tried to convince the world it was the best thing ever.  Now I kind of dislike the brand because given how much users on that site have pushed it.  There is a certain sense of irony I get from that regarding one of the topics of this thread.

I met my wife online also.  I was actually living in Hanford at the time and listed my eHarmony profile as Fresno so I could avoid the military base crowd.  Considering our second date was to a National Park I think we hit some common ground (non flat) early on.

That's because he hasn't gone anywhere in a long while. There's just so much one can document from their own home area, and I'd imagine he has Atlanta pretty well covered. He seems to be a fan of urban freeways.

He will occasionally post photos from the ATL area and from his journeys to visit his son in Nashville. (Time flies, I met Erik when he was just a young boy when he accompanied his dad to an ATL-area meet several years ago; hard to believe he's grown and on his own now).

BTW, Jim is thinking about relocating to Bowling Green, Ky., to be closer to his son but not have to pay the high cost of living of Nashville and its suburbs. I'm not sure what Jim does for a living; I've never thought to ask.
