Guadalupe Canyon Parkway is a four-mile mountainous expressway located in the San Mateo County, California.  Guadalupe Canyon Parkway connects Market Street in Daly City east to Bayshore Boulevard (former US Route 101) via San Bruno Mountain.  The corridor was completed as a partially limited access road in 1968 and is mostly known for being part of the famous chase scene in the movie Bullitt.

Wow, never knew that this road was originally plotted out for development that never occurred..though there are some mid-2000s newer houses on the Brisbane side just southeast of the park boundary!

Have there been any proposals to extend the parkway to the Bayshore Freeway?  (Geneva Avenue further north has had some road proposals to extend it towards the freeway, whether as an extension of the canceled Route 230 project towards Hunters Point, or as part of the redevelopment of the old Schlage Lock factory site that has taken decades to materialize)

I'm not aware of any proposals that would get the corridor to the Bayshore Freeway.  I find that odd considering that the Bayshore Highway (now Boulevard) was already bypassed by 1968.

I've driven past this (well, within a mile or so) countless times and didn't know about it. There's even a grade separation at Radio Rd.
My first SF/horror short story collection is available: "Young Man, Open Your Winter Eye"

Same here I never knew about this road when I lived in the area.
