New I-70 bridge at Rocheport, MO - final girder placed earlier in week bows out

The topping out happened on Wednesday and now the construction cam shows that girder isn't where it's supposed to be.

The damage occurred sometime just before noon Friday 9/13/2024:

It looks normal to me, unless I'm missing something over the past several days of camera shots, in which it didn't move.

I'm pretty sure that's just an arc in the girder. From head on, it would look something like this.

How does that girder just snap back like nothing? Even if it was put back into place, there has to be some warping.

If I understand the situation correctly, the barge with the erection crane moved backward, but one of the placement cables was still attached, pulling on the girder plate. It caused several of the cross members to the adjoining girder to detach,(or weren't attached at all, hence the crane with a supporting cable still attached).

These girder plates are not fabricated for lateral strength, but for weight bearing in the vertical plane.

By tying them together with cross members, it helps them to absorb lateral movements together and forms an aggregate of lateral strength.

The beam in question is the one with the banner on it.
