Quote from: Alps on January 31, 2025, 06:21:20 PMBecause I should at least be able to plan the meet based on the information given, even if I'm not sure about attendance.

I checked, the Des Moines NCUTCD meeting (which a few of us attend) is June 11-13. The most natural fit for a meet date would be June 7 for the few of us, but there are certainly other factors in play. I will create a poll and see what dates are winning.
June 7 has won. I now need to finish planning it out based on the discussions here and in the date poll.

Thanks a ton for taking that on. Alps!

Maybe any meet goers would like to join the Discord server I cobbled together for that reason?

Shit, I forgot I already committed to taking a friend to see his hometown Blue Jays against the Twins on the 6th. I probably can't make this meet now.

Initial thoughts for meet:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/fzoZ2Ek8KEeb5FTg8

(11:00-12:30) Start in St. Boniface (French Quarter). Can park vehicles on side streets to consolidate.
(2:00-2:20) Drive out to 100 (route can be adjusted) and head west on 2 to pick up a clinch on 424 on the way out to a nice old bridge on 248.
(3:00-3:20) Come back into town on 26-1 and head up 101 to look at unfinished 190.
(4:30-5:00) Continue up 101, with a couple of diversions for recent construction projects on 6 and 59. Head south on 59 and across the river to stop at Kildonan Park and walk to the water for bridge views (will look at path access).
(5:30) Head back to where we started via a couple of old downtown bridges - if we have time, and as people desire, we can stop at either or both to walk them.

Sounds great to me.

BTW I'm going to need a couple of "yes" for this meet to happen - I see a lot of interest so far but no one has confirmed. If it's "yes but not on June 7" please let me know if June 14 would work better.

Rothman

The thread title says June 7th.  That's what works for me.  Thought there was something else going on in your neck of the woods on the 1st...

I'll say yes for now, but closer to the date I feel like it may change thanks to me being broke as hell.

Well, I think the only recent interest has been expressed by Alps, Liliana and me, and Liliana's now a maybe.  Give people until the end of the month to raise their hand?

Makes me wonder what I'll do if the meet is outright cancelled...probably will still head out there.

Right now, I'm a "yes" with days off confirmed from work.

Yeah I got the dates wrong - fixed.

Let's talk as we get closer. I'd love to get you out there.

I've announced it on Discord, but I regret to say I won't be able to make this one. I'll need to get myself out of poverty before I can go anywhere this far.

This seems to be falling apart, then.  Who's left?

You and Brandon have more or less confirmed here. Open to others. I'd hate to "fall it apart" just yet.

I'm still interested, but need to do some more trip planning next week to give you a firmer answer.

Please count me in. I have most of my itinerary to Winnipeg (via Ontario) planned and reserved.

I had a little trouble (since resolved) with lodging reservations in the Winnipeg region for meet weekend. A front desk clerk blamed that on June being wedding season. You might try to make your lodging reservations sooner rather than later, just in case.

I didn't have any trouble at all.  My reservations are set.  Just made them a couple of days ago.

My reservations are set as well, and I had little issue with doing so.
