Although I remember the time electronic fuel injection came into the market, my mechanic then advised against getting them.

I didn't know you were alive in 1958. Those early Chrysler EFI units were indeed troublesome and the cars were retrofitted with carburetors. By the time Volkswagen offered EFI in the 1968 Type 3, they were much more reliable, although they could still be troublesome. My grandfather was a VW mechanic, and he replaced the fuel injection systems in his Type 3 Fastbacks and Squarebacks with carburetors. By the 1980s, fuel injection was more reliable than carburetors.

In the mid-1990s, there was a stable in WCW called the NWO. At Bash at the Beach in 1996, Hulk Hogan turned heel and joined the NWO. The fans were so pissed that they threw garbage in the ring, and throwing trash at the NWO became a tradition. In late 1996, I went to a WCW Nitro in Savannah, and at the end, the NWO beat up Randy "Macho Man" Savage. The garbage flew as it always did, and I got hit in the shoulder with a full cup of Coke. It hit me pretty hard. If it had hit me in the head, it might have knocked me out cold. I don't know why they threw it towards me because I wasn't that close to the ring. If it had knocked me out or injured my eye or something, I would have gotten a fat check from Ted Turner.

I'm not even interested in knowing about TikTok.  I know it's a social media platform, and I have a general idea that it centers around short videos, but that's all I know, and that's all I care to know.  What makes it the worst ? don't know don't care.  Cutting off views ? don't know don't care.  Kissing the administration's ring ? don't know don't care.

I'm just not into the short video format, bonus points lost for the disembodied floating head adding nothing to the average video. It's also a format that Meta insists on floating to the top of its feeds which adds to my disgruntlementiffication but other people still love to show me stuff that leaves me lukewarm most of the time. That every fifth video is some AI nonsense which can't be flagged is annoying...just another reason to put social stuff down.

To be fair, I don't delve that far into the longer video format of YouTube; I get what I'm looking for and then leave shortly afterward.

Whenever I hear the name of that band, it makes me think of an educational puppet troupe called "The Kids on the Block" from the late 1970s or 1980s. I don't remember a lot about them other than I think they were intended to teach kids to be understanding of handicapped people.

Huh, I just thought they had very limited talent. Wahlberg at least had some acting chops.

Thirty-odd years ago, I had a girlfriend that saved the tape, but also hadn't listened to it in about 5 years...she quickly realized the music and lyrics fell apart and we had a good laugh.

One of their songs played at Five Guys last year and my wife was stunned how empty and soulless Hangin' Tough sounded. It was like they were trying to be a softer version of a punk band that never left its own suburban house.

As far as "jealousy", that's bullshit. I wouldn't trade places with her. I just don't like her music, and I'm sick of hearing about her all the time. Even if I liked the artist, I would be sick of the overexposure.

As far as "jealousy", that's bullshit. I wouldn't trade places with her. I just don't like her music, and I'm sick of hearing about her all the time. Even if I liked the artist, I would be sick of the overexposure.

Her music is just "fine" to me. My wife likes her. It's just background noise to me. Only something like Mastodon could actually made my head hurt.

And how often do you actually hear about her and how? At least in the news I read and the social media I partake in, recently, I've heard that she got engaged and I think she might have a new album coming out. Other than that, I haven't heard a thing about her in a year or so, other than from the few of you here on this board that bring her up with a high frequency and then complain about hearing about her too much.

At my last job, somebody mentioned her every 30 minutes. They even had her picture on a contest that was going on. I see crap about her on social media all the time. I did recently download F.B. Purity, and I added her name and the name of her boy toy on the block list, so I don't see nearly as much about her as I did before. I do, however, get posts about her on my mobile app, so I don't use it as much. I'm just tired of hearing about her. If they talked this much about, say, Maynard James Keenan, I probably wouldn't be a Tool fan anymore. Overexposure ruins everything.

Sounds like your algorithm is just messed up. I've been trying to fix my Twitter algorithm since it seems like it's actively trying to recruit me to be a Proud Boy or something.
