Nah.  Convert them to meter markers, but post them every 128 meters.  That way, people will have an easier transition by just remembering that there are 25 meter markers per two-mile stretch.

So, for example, if your car breaks down on southbound I-95 in Virginia and you call for roadside assistance, you tell them, "I'm at the One Just South of Kings Dominion." Or on southbound I-75 near Naples, "I'm at the One with the Toll Plaza."
