It's a sad day in Wrigleyville, as the Cubs' Hall of Fame second baseman has died at age 65:

Along with Michael Jordan, Chris Chelios and Walter Payton, he was a Windy City fixture during the 80s and 90s, and my favorite Cub during the latter part of my childhood. Here's hoping the North Siders win the World Series again so they can dedicate it to his memory, in pretty much the same way the Red Sox did for Ted Williams, an all-time great who never won a championship in his playing years.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Our childhood cat was named Sandburg after him.

He Is Already Here! Let's Go, Flamingo!
Dost thou understand the graveness of the circumstances?
