Does that mean you're not confused at all?  Because I wasn't confused at all.

Well, you certainly are now.

Froggie I hope he is still around created a map of Interstate traffic volumes a few years ago.
Aside from 180 we have a couple of other low volume interstates
Parts of 72 and 155 are around  8000 or 9000
We have some high volume too. The Ryan Kennedy ..complex is a quarter million to 350000

Not the lowest nationwide, but the lowest I have personally traveled is probably I-29 north of Fargo.

Therefore -- the part that is missing is not I-695.

The unusable stubs can't be called I-695 either.

AIUI, that's correct.  The portion in question was removed (I think) from the National Network, but it is still (I think) part of the definition of the Interstate.  Technically, it appears to be little different than a normal road closure to replace a bridge, except that this one is taking a lot longer.

Let's appreciate that Beltway believes that at least a couple of examples from this thread need to be widened:

Quote from: Beltway on November 05, 2025, 01:32:52 AMMost of the routes east of the Mississippi River need 6-lane widening (or more in some cases).
"Most?" Hardly.
In terms of miles? Probably over 2/3. Or maybe 1/2 for sure, and the other 1/6 on the edge now and will need it in 10 years.
Absolutely not. Most of the four lane mileage is perfectly adequate at four lanes.
Just for starters . . . all or nearly of these -- I-95, I-85, I-75, I-65, I-81, I-90, I-80, I-76, I-70, I-20.

Gotta wonder... if one swam or rowed across, would that section of the 695 be an ADT of 1 or 2? :meh:

Gotta wonder what the AADT is of this

Higher than I expected.

Maybe not. If a place has 20 employees and takes 20 customers/deliveries, that's 80 trips in and out right there.

So this is the famous Crossett Port according to the GSV image. Explains the ARDOT custom driveway to me a little.

Did not know that a) Crossett was located close enough to a river; b) the Ouachita River is navigable north of the Louisiana state line by anything bigger than a john boat.

Quote from: Quillz on February 15, 2026, 05:47:38 AMThe funny thing about those is they don't even bother stopping normal motorists anymore (maybe they were never intended to?)

When I went to California in February, there wasn't even anyone in the booths on I-15.
