While the Westmoreland County sections have had their own website (which I thought has declined in quality the last couple of years), I wanted PennDOT to have a project site for the East Wheatfield and West Wheatfield section in Indiana County.  Mostly just to see if they were going to put some sort of "proper" interchange in with PA-259, or just leave the little "connector road" setup previously there.  (Not sure why so curious, as I've only ever been on this stretch of 22 a handful of times and not since 2006).
I don't have opinions anymore. All I know is that no one is better than anyone else, and everyone is the best at everything

Occasionally called a "one-quadrant interchange" on this side of the pond...

You mean something similar to this.

Yeah... it was (still is?) like that. Doesn't look like PennDOT ever had a site or page that ever had pics or plans on if that were to be changed in the 22 redo. (Of note, it looks like your example was built so the road using the overpass could be dual-ized.)

EDIT: Looking closer, it looks like there is only room for 1 additional lane.
Also, while I don't think I was actually at this particular intersection, I (with my family on vacation) would have been pretty close on our way from Bath to a relatives' house in Fordingbridge via Salisbury.

I was through the work zone back in 2009 coming back from the State College Meet, and from what I recall the connector would remain.  Google caught the new connector, but PennDOT should have tried to make it a diamond.

I was through there a couple weeks ago and everything was done except for a jughandle about 1/2 mile east of the Mt. Tabor Road intersection. At 259, there are two connectors - one where the original one was and one on the north side (westbound side) of 22, with a jersey barrier in the middle of 22 (so I guess it's a double quadrant now). I do agree with Jeff in that a diamond would be better and safer there.

Sounds like it's a "Lite" version of the interchange (an actual interchange) with PA-56 in Aramagh.  Still better than what was there I suppose.

That's a good way to put it :)
I lived near Armagh when I was growing up. The rest of my family still lives there.

Now I know where the picture in your avatar came from. I had a feeling it was the village on the A46 as the sign is of a British design but it being on the right hand side of the road threw me off.

Yeah... after spending a week in Wales (Where my grandmother was from), we drove thru it on the way to Bath.  Obviously, we felt obliged to stop.
A couple of months ago when I noticed that Google had that "street-viewed", I checked it out... At some point since being there (2002) and the Google car going thru they removed that sign and now have a combined sign for the speed limit and the village.

18 Years of Route 22 Construction Coming to an End - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

I just traveled that section the other day.  They were still working on installing the reflectors in the middle of the lanes.

Of course, it's not going to be technicality 4 lanes till they finished the repair job they are doing near the US-119 North split.
