One Exit Control Cities

Anyone know of any interstate control cities that only are accessible by one interchange.

Milford on I-84 in PA is used for EB I-84 out of Scranton and only has one exit with US 6.
Easton on I-78 has only one exit west of the Delaware River.  Although, many may say that Exit 3 in NJ is a second exit, it is not signed for it.

I-270 in OH has only one exit each for its control cities of Cincinnati, Dayton/Indianapolis, Cleveland, Wheeling, Grove City, Dublin, Westerville, and Obetz.

I'm sure you wouldn't count the first 4, as they are actually I-70 and I-71's control cities, but I think the 4 local control cities (used at most service interchanges) mostly count.  Grove City appears on just one exit from I-270, though it's listed on two exits from I-71 and another exit on I-270 could be informally described as a Grove City exit.  Dublin has just one exit from I-270, and one or two from US 33. Westerville appears on signage for just one exit, though another exit also leads to part of Westerville. Obetz appears only on auxilliary signage for one I-270 exit, I think.

But maybe you'd prefer to exclude 3-digit Interstates altogether...
Wait, it's all Ohio? Always has been.

Fort Smith, Ark. is a control city on I-40 from Little Rock but is only accessible directly via I-540 South.

You're gonna end up with a lot of examples of this on interstates near their ends and near major interchanges (particularly 3dis), as technically that is one exit. Like I-84 (east) uses Boston as a control city in Connecticut, but the only exit for Boston is I-90 eastbound.

I think the OP intended for direct freeway exits to towns, rather than to other freeways that happen to continue you on your journey. So to take Road Hog's example, it would only count if there was only one exit for Fort Smith off I-540.

Am I right?

I seem to think that you could also access Ft Smith directly on US 64 in Oklahoma and AR 59 by going thru Van Buren.  59 ends just short of the Ft Smith city limits.

Or am I missing the point of the thread?

I-405 in California, Santa Monica, you have to take 10 West to Reach Santa Monica, well unless you take Santa Monica Blvd.

Technically, Tomah WI (which is a secondary control city) falls under this. I-94 has 1 exit at US 12/WI 21 (Exit 143) that directly accesses Tomah. I-94 has a 2nd exit (with I-90) but does not access Tomah without exiting again off I-90 at either US 12/WI 16 or WI 131.

There are a few of these on I-81 in Oswego county, as NYSDOT has a habit of posing the next exit on mileage signs in this area.  Though Pulaski is debatable (it's a pair of half diamond interchanges... they share the same exit number, but they're a mile and a half apart).

How is the US 6/US 209 interchange signed as you travel west on I-84? Does it also have Milford listed or just Matamoras?
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Primary

* Kearney on I-80 in Nebraska, at least until the new interchange on the east side of town is finished.

Secondary

* Cairo, IL on I-57 in Illinois

* Hamburg, IA on NB I-29 in Missouri

* Perryville, MO for NB I-55

I think there's a few in some of the western states

West Virginia

Control city on I-77 between Beckley and Wytheville is Bluefield, which is served only by Exit 1.

Control city on I-79 between Charleston and Fairmont is Clarksburg, which is served only by Exit 119.

Control city on I-64 between Beckley and Lexington (VA) is Lewisburg, which is served only by 169.

I'd quibble a bit on the first two. Bluefield is also accessible from the US 460 exit and depending on where you are going in Bluefield, I'd almost say that getting off at Princeton and taking US 460 would be a better choice than going on to Exit 1 and taking US 52.

And Clarksburg is only signed at the US 50 exit, but there are a bunch of other exits in that region that lead to Clarksburg.

How many exits is Parkersburg signed on along I-77?

Just Matamoras in both directions.  Even Port Jervis, NY is not listed there and that realistically is the most direct way into that city from I-84 EB.

I-96 only has one Muskegon exit because it ends at that exit.

In Vermont, I-89 has only a single exit for the control city of Montpelier.  Perhaps that is why there are two control cities northbound (Montpelier & Barre, of which Barre has 2 exits).

Wilshire, Santa Monica Blvd, and Olympic/Pico also take you to Santa Monica.

Also, 210 has San Fernando as a control city, but only Maclay Street and Hubbard Street take you to the city of San Fernando.

Derry NH is an official AASHTO control city for I-93.  The only direct access into Derry from I-93 is via Exit 4 (NH 102 Derry Londonderry).

While the northbound control city for the Blue Route (free) portion of I-476 Northbound is Plymouth Meeting; there is only one exit that actually lists Plymouth Meeting on the BGS'... Exit 19.  While Exit 20, the last exit before the Turnpike tollbooths, gets one there as well; it isn't signed as such.

Update: new signs for Exit 19 now only list Plymouth Mtg. on the BGS'.  The previous, early-90s vintage BGS' had Germantown Pike - EAST Plymouth Mtg.

Along I-476 southbound, again the free Blue route section, the only exit that lists "Chester" (its control city) is actually the terminus ramp for I-95 South.

Along the NE Extension of the PA Turnpike (also I-476), there is only one exit listed for Allentown (Exit 56 US 22/PA 309/I-78) and, if one follows I-476 South from the Mid-County toll plaza along the Blue Route, there is only one listed exit for Philadelphia (Exit 16 for I-76).  Note: a couple of I-476 South on-ramp signs in Plymouth Meeting, list Valley Forge as a southbound destination.  Like Philadelphia, its only listed exit is Exit 16.

I-505 lists dual control cities of Winters and San Francisco.  IIRC, there is only one isolated diamond interchange for Winters.

I-40 in North Carolina only has one exit for Benson unless you're willing to count the indirect method of exiting onto southbound I-95 and then taking the first exit from that road.

I think the sign, at least on EB I-40, says "I-95 south, Benson, Fayetteville"

Fort Smith is not signed on the AR 59 exit. That is probably to discourage through traffic on that big hill going south to downtown Van Buren. Nor is it signed at the OK 64A (Dora) exit on the state line on the Arkansas side; however, ODOT does sign Fort Smith on the Oklahoma side of the exit.
