we've got its big brother here...

looks like the shield was at one point intended to be a 43E or 43W.  I don't see any evidence of it being hammered flat... but it isn't the best photo in the world to begin with.

Here's the northern terminus of the most useless two-digit state highway in OK! (Except for possibly 89)

Here's the other non state or US 82 in Oregon complete with absurd control cities.

I drive OR 82 reasonably frequently- it used to be almost all the signage was US 82, but the last couple times I've been over there in the last year many of the US 82 signs have disappeared- there's only three left to my knowledge- one in LaGrande, and then two on mileage signs

agentsteel53

isn't that I-82 correct, though?

when I was last on OR-82, there was one on a railroad overpass, and then several on the road out to Wallowa like the one I posted.

another erroneous 82; its terminus was retracted to east of here at Alamogordo.

Right- that's I-82. On the road to Wallowa it seems like in the last year all but 3 have been replaced with OR 82 shields, but the one I posted is still there as is the one you mentioned on the railroad pass. There is only one eastbound now but I don't remember exactly which sign it's attached to- but there used to be several more
