County Road 35A forms a 10.6 mile long loop from SR 539/I-4 in Lakeland to U.S. 98 at Providence in northwestern Polk County. The southern four miles along Kathleen Road constitutes a divided, four lane arterial joining Griffin, Galloway and Kathleen. CR 35A continues 1.1 miles north from 1st Street NW along a five lane boulevard to Duff Road.
The remainder of CR 35A follows a rural two lane highway. Kathleen Road extends 2.3 miles north from Duff Road to W Socrum Loop Road at the community of Socrum. CR 35A turns east along W Socrum Loop Road 3.2 miles to U.S. 98.
CR 35A along Kathleen Road was realigned 0.77 miles to bypass the intersection with CR 542A (N Galloway Road) at Galloway. Old Kathleen Road remains in service along the adjacent CSX Railroad line to N Galloway Road.
