Pasco County Road 530

Pasco County Road 530

Partitioned into two segments, Pasco County Road 530 runs along the north side of Zephyrhills. The western portion is a minor collector linking Kossick Road for 0.247 miles between Green Slope Drive and U.S. 301. A half mile east of U.S. 301, CR 530 lines Otis Allen Road 2.08 miles east from Wire Road to CR 535 (Old Lakeland Highway). The Pasco MPO Mobility 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan references the Overpass Road Extension between CR 579 (Handcart Road) and Greenslope Drive dually as the CR 530 Extension.

Kossick Road extends east from U.S. 301 to the Zephyr Lakes subdivision. The city of Zephyrhills plans to connect the four lane roadway with adjacent Otis Allen Road, but that requires the relocation of a Duke Energy transmission pole.1 Kossick Road is part of a Pasco County Comprehensive Plan and 2025 Long Range transportation Plan to extend Overpass Road east to CR 41 (Fort King Road) as a new four lane corridor.

The Overpass Road corridor will extend eastward on a new alignment to CR 579 (Handcart Road) at Fairview Heights Road. Following the Fairview Heights right of way, the four lane route continues east to a new alignment connecting with CR 41 (Fort King Road) west of Kossick Road. Kossick Road and CR 530 along Otis Allen Rad will complete the corridor east to CR 535 (Old Lakeland Highway). The Final Overpass Road Route Study recommended alignment was Alternative O-3, as it utilizes the existing right of way of both Overpass and Fairview Heights Road.2

A diamond interchange with a flyover connecting Overpass Road west to Interstate 75 south opened to traffic in January 20233. $64 million in construction on the project started in October 2020.
