County Road 887 constitutes a 6.84 mile loop east from U.S. 41 along Old US 41 through the city of Bonita Springs. The route is sparsely signed in Collier County and unmarked in Lee County. U.S. 41 was realigned to bypass Bonita Springs with the completion of a four lane, divided highway to the west by January 30, 1976. A subsequent application to the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) to relocate U.S. 41 westward was approved on July 8, 1977.
