State Road 243

Florida State Road 243

Established in 2015, State Road 243 comprises a 5.76 mile loop serving Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) between I-295 (West Beltway) and I-95 on the north side of Jacksonville. SR 243 originates along the Duval Road bridge spanning Cedar Creek, just south of the parclo interchange with I-295. Duval Road arcs northeast to become International Airport Boulevard alongside Jacksonville International Tradeport. North of SR 102 (Airport Road), SR 243 runs along a newer roadway to Pecan Park Road.

The northern leg of SR 243 follows Pecan Park Road east 0.914 miles to Interstate 95. $17.4 million in construction from July 10, 2017 to Fall 2019 rebuilt Pecan Park Road into a four lane arterial. Traffic lights were added at Bainebridge Drive and at the exchange with I-95, where exit ramps were widened.1
