State Road 501 - Clearlake Road

State Road 501 follows Clearlake Road 3.36 miles north from SR 520 (King Street) to the east end of SR 524 at Industry Road in the city of Cocoa. The five lane boulevard serves older residential and commercial areas west of U.S. 1.
SR 501 was originally designated as SR 503A, with Clearlake Road ending at an at-grade intersection with SR 528 just west of Bennett Causeway.

Lake Drive crosses SR 501 (Clearlake Road) a third of a mile north of King Street. Lake Drive branches north from SR 520 on King Street to reconnect with the state road west at Cocoa West.

Dixon Boulevard spurs west from SR 501 into a subdivision and east as a commercial boulevard to U.S. 1.

Clearlake Road north intersects Tate Street at the southeast corner of Esatern Florida State College - Cocoa and UCF.

Michigan Avenue forms a two lane belt route around Cocoa along with Range Road south to SR 524. East from SR 501, Michigan Avenue widens to a five lane boulevard to U.S. 1.

SR 501 makes a 90 degree turn west on the final approach to SR 524 and Industrial Road north. An abandoned roadway extends to the north. This alignment was formerly a part of State Secondary 503A, the predecessor to SR 501.

SR 501 north and SR 524 east come together and end at Industry Road just south of its six-ramp parclo interchange with the Beachline Expressway (SR 528). SR 528 combines with SR A1A east across Merritt Island to Cape Canaveral A.F.S. and Port Canaveral.

SR 524 provides a cut off from Merritt Island Causeway southwest to Interstate 95. The state road angles 4.6 miles southwest to SR 520 near Canaveral Groves.
