Interstate 93

Originating in Canton, Interstate 93 travels east to Braintree and Quincy before turning north alongside Route 3 into Boston. Built as part of the Big Dig megaproject, a series of tunnels takes I-93 below Downtown and the North End of Boston. The route emerges across the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge spanning the Charles River north to Bunker Hill.
Interstate 93 continues north from Boston to Lawrence and Methuen before entering the Granite State at Salem.

The Furnace Brook Rotary joins ramps with I-93 (Southeast Expressway), Furnace Brook Parkway and Willard Street in the city of Quincy.
New signs posted here removed the references for I-93/Route 3 and instead direct motorists staying on the rotary to Willard Street. Furnace Brook Parkway follows a winding path north and east paralleling Furnace Brook to Route 3A (South Artery).
