Maryland Route 543 travels 19 miles northward from U.S. 40 at Belcamp to MD 165 at Pylesville. The southern section along Fountain Green Road to Creswell, MD 22 east of Bel Air and U.S. 1 at Hickory is suburban. North of Hickory, MD 543 along Ady Road is a rural highway through agricultural areas and timberland.
| MD 543 (Creswell Road / Riverside Parkway) meets Interstate 95 at a diamond interchange (Exit 80). Some time before the interchange opened to traffic in 1991, the state route utilized Belcamp Road north from U.S. 40 (Pulaski Highway) to old Creswell Road northeast of Exit 80. Much of the original alignment no longer exists due to development of land between the JFK Memorial and Pulaski Highways. 07/02/10 |
