Route 3

Route 3 follows a freeway southeast from Route 21 in Clifton to Rutherford, East Rutherford, Secaucus and U.S. 1/9 at North Bergen township. The remainder of the 10.84 mile route northwest to U.S. 46 through Clifton has a mixture of interchanges and at-grade turn-offs.

The state route also serves the Meadowlands Sports Complex, joining the home of New York Giants, New York Jets and New Jersey Devils with the New Jersey Turnpike.

South

Route 3 spans a railroad corridor just south of the ramps for Route 495 to the Lincoln Tunnel ahead of U.S. 1/9 in North Bergen township. An end sign precedes the at-grade intersection with U.S. 1/9 outside Union City.
