Overlapping wye interchanges connect the west end of Battleship Parkway with Interstate 10 at the George Wallace Tunnel.

Interstate 10 descends from the Mobile Bayway into the George C. Wallace Tunnel. The tunnel connects with Water Street and Downtown Mobile.

Button copy overheads previously posted for the U.S. 90/98 westbound split at the Bankhead Tunnel. U.S. 90 originally combined with U.S. 98 west through the Bankhead Tunnel, and along Government Street through Downtown Mobile. U.S. 90 replaced Truck U.S. 90 along Cochrane Causeway and Bay Bridge Road in 1999, though sign changes were not finalized until 2001.

Replacement signage installed during fall 2001 for the split of U.S. 90 and 98. Truck U.S. 98 runs concurrent with U.S. 90 west to Broad and Saint Anthony Streets in Mobile. All trucks carrying hazardous materials are routed across the Cochrane-Africatown Bridge over the Mobile River.

U.S. 98 branches west from U.S. 90 through the Bankhead Tunnel to Downtown Mobile. U.S. 90 continues northward along Cochrane Causeway toward Prichard. Detour shields for I-10 were added along Battleship Parkway and Bay Bridge Road in 1999 to guide trucks carrying hazardous materials to Interstate 165.

The Mobile Bayway bridge system extends 7.5 miles across northern reaches of Mobile Bay to the George Wallace Tunnel ahead of Downtown Mobile.

U.S. 90 and U.S. 98 partition on the north side of I-10. U.S. 98 turns westward along Battleship Parkway for 0.763 miles while U.S. 90 (Old Spanish Trail) continues north 0.744 miles to U.S. 31.

Meaher State Park lies along the south side of Battleship Parkway between the Blakeley and Apalachee Rivers opposite Five Rivers Boulevard.

Still within the city limits of Spanish Fort, Battleship Causeway progresses west between Chacaloochee and Mobile Bays to a diamond interchange (Exit 30) with Interstate 10.

The exchange with I-10 lies 3.8 miles west of the U.S. 90/98 merge at Spanish Fort. The Mobile Bayway shifts sides with Battleship Parkway, staying north of the causeway to their next meeting.

The entrance ramp for I-10 east serves commuter traffic from U.S. 90 and the Cochrane-Africatown Bridge. Areas along both sides of the causeway by I-10 are popular fishing spots for locals.

U.S. 90/98 (Battleship Parkway) cross the Tensaw River on the Admiral Raphael Semmes Bridge. The westbound span opened in 1965; the eastbound replacement was completed in 1998. A warning sign here advises truckers of the hazmat restrictions for the upcoming George Wallace and Bankhead Tunnels.
