SR 85 (Ferdon Boulevard) represents the main north-south highway across both Crestview and Okaloosa County. The state road begins in Ft. Walton Beach near the Gulf of Mexico and exits via Walton County east of Laurel Hill and Svea.

Entering the signalized intersection with SR 85 (Ferdon Boulevard) on U.S. 90 (James Lee Boulevard) west. SR 85 constitutes a busy commercial arterial leading south to Interstate 10 and Eglin A.F.B. Northward, the corridor provides a conduit for suburban expansion of Crestview.

U.S. 90 reassurance shield posted after SR 4's eastern terminus at Milligan. U.S. 90 advances 22 miles westward to combine with SR 87 outside of the Santa Rosa County seat of Milton.

Since replaced, a Florida Keys shield was posted for C-189 south on U.S. 90 west at Log Lake Road. County Road 189 spurs 2.03 miles south from Holt to an airstrip beyond Interstate 10.
