California State Route 99 North
Prior to the conversion of the next three miles of SR 99 to freeway standards, there were two at-grade intersections: Road 19 1/2 and Avenue 22 1/2 to Fairmead. Both of these intersections were eliminated in favor of a new interchange (Exit 164, Avenue 21 1/2 and Road 20). With the opening of Exit 164, this three-mile section of SR 99 was fully converted to freeway standards, and the expressway was eliminated. As a result, these "Cross Traffic Ahead" signs are now gone. 11/25/04
The former at-grade intersection between California 99 and Road 19 1/2 was located after the diamond interchange with Avenue 21 1/2 and Road 20. This intersection is now gone. 11/25/04
As part of the project to upgrade to this stretch of SR 99 to freeway standards, a former hamburger joint (complete with giant orange) was cut off from direct freeway access. 11/25/04
The overhead sign here was replaced with the expansion of the freeway to three northbound lanes. 11/25/04
