The original connection between northbound California 99 and California 149 south to Oroville. California 149 is a short yet very important state highway that travels southeast to link California 99 with California 70. California 149 offers the most direct route from Chico south to Oroville and northeast to the Feather River Canyon and Quincy. 01/20/03

The transition from northbound California 99 onto southbound California 149 changed in 2008 with the expansion of California 149 to four lanes and the construction of interchanges at either end of the state route. 01/20/03

The changes in signage for this interchange were made when the nearby California 99-149 interchange was built. 01/15/06
