This sign bridge at Exit 260 remained in use until August 2003. Signs for Interstate 65 south and Exit 259B (4th Avenue South) were retained on the replacement assembly. A Norfolk Southern Railroad line separates the North and South addressing system for the Birmingham street grid. The line doubles with AMTRAK service and a passenger station is located between 18th and 19th Streets North by Downtown. 08/10/02
Passing over 6th Avenue North, another set of button copy guide signs preceded the back to back ramps at Exits 259B/A. A new on-ramp from I-20/59 merges onto I-65 at this location now. 11/07/11
This advance guide sign for Exit 252 and U.S. 31 (Montgomery Highway) was replaced by 2015 with a poorly designed Clearview font based panel. 04/14/13
The two mile sign for Interstate 459 on I-65 south was carbon copied to use Clearview font by June 2015. 04/14/13
Also removed by 2009 was the guide sign at the off-ramp (Exit 252) to U.S. 31 (Montgomery Highway). 08/10/02
The previous one mile sign bridge for the Birmingham belt line and Exit 250 on I-65 south. The assembly was removed in 2011 during road work. 12/28/09
Replaced overhead posted for the two-lane off-ramp (Exit 250) to I-459 on I-65 south. A barrier median replaced the small grassy strip here during 2011 construction. 12/28/09
These non-reflectorized button copy overheads once directed traffic to I-459 at the four-level stack interchange. 06/02/11

2009-11 widening of Interstate 65 added an auxiliary lane through to Exit 247 and expanded that ramp to two lanes. This view looks at the freeway before construction. 06/18/05
