Interstate 70 Missouri - West


Spanning the original Manchester Bridge westbound on I-70. The new bridges include a westbound auxiliary lane for Exit 7A. 10/17/04

Signs continued to advise motorists to use Interstate 670 west for Topeka in lieu of the I-70 route along the east and north legs of the Alphabet Loop. 10/17/04

The 1933-built thru-tied arch bridge for U.S. 40 across the Blue River was replaced as part of the 2010-12 I-70 and I-435 interchange project. The historic bridge was dismantled to be used as a pedestrian bridge in the city of Grandview. 10/17/04

Interstate 70 at the west end of the old Manchester Bridge and off-ramp (Exit 7A) to 31st Street (U.S. 40 east). 10/17/04

The overhead for Exit 2L was replaced to include a left exit tab. Original signs for I-670 almost exclusively displayed the route also as Interstate 70 Alternate. 10/17/04

Signs for I-670 referenced the urban loop as Alternate I-70 for through traffic bound for Topeka and points west. 06/18/15

Local ramps depart from both the I-670 beginning and turn of I-70 north for local streets into Downtown Kansas City. 06/18/15

Taking the Alphabet Loop north along side U.S. 71, I-70 passed below a series of button copy based, diagrammatic overheads for Admiral Boulevard (Exit 2H) and the split with I-29 (Exit 2G). These were replaced with reflectorized signs by 2007, and again with separate panels for I-70 and I-29 by 2011. 10/17/04
