Interstate 275 Florida - North


Northbound Interstate 275 reaches Exit 47B, U.S. 92 (Hillsborough Avenue) west. U.S. 92 continues west along Hillsborough Avenue, then turns south at a six parclo interchange with Dale Mabry Highway (Florida 580). 12/23/03

The next exit along northbound is Exit 48, Sligh Avenue. Sligh Avenue serves the Lowry Park and Sulphur Springs communities, including Lowry Park Zoo. 05/28/05

Signs were removed/replaced at Exit 48 (Sligh Avenue) by 2007. Sligh Avenue straddles the north end of Seminole Heights to the east and spans the Hillsborough River on its westward journey to Egypt-Lake Leto. 07/13/07

A new interchange sequence sign replaced this assembly with the addition of full inside shoulders by 2014. 07/10/11

I-275 crosses the Hillsborough River for a second time leading into the Sulphur Springs community ahead of Exit 49 with Bird Street and Waters Avenue. 07/10/11

Prior signage for Exit 49 omitted Waters Avenue, which parallels Bird Street just north of the former Tampa Greyhound Park. 05/28/05

Waters Avenue becomes unsigned CR 587A west of adjacent U.S. 41 Business (Florida Avenue) and CR 584 west of SR 580 (Dale Mabry Highway) as it links north Tampa with Town 'N Country.

Northbound Interstate 275 reaches Exit 51, Junction Florida 582 (Fowler Avenue). Fowler Avenue eastbound serves the University of South Florida, which had an enrollment of 42,950 as of the Fall 2004 semester. As a result, USF had the largest enrollment of any such school in the Southeastern United States that year and ranked in the top ten each year otherwise. 12/23/03

A sign replacement was made at the diamond interchange (Exit 51) with Florida 582 by 2007, where Univ South Florida was added. 07/13/07

A second change at the Exit 51 off-ramp occurred after 2008 with a new carbon copied sign installed. 07/10/11

Prior to 2011, Exit 51 partitioned into two left lanes west toward Forest Hills and a single right-hand lane for University Mall and USF. Work expanded this ramp to include three right-hand turn lanes, reflecting commuter traffic increases to both USF and New Tampa. 12/03/03

This mileage sign listed the distances to Florida 54, the first exit after the merge with Interstate 75, and the I-75 control points of Ocala and Gainesville. A replacement was made after the new ramp (Exit 59) to Florida 56 opened. The new panel added the distance to SR 56 (eight miles), revised the distances to SR 54 (11 miles) and Ocala (85 miles), and dropped Gainesville. 07/10/11

County Line Road passes over Interstate 275 at the border between Hillsborough and Pasco Counties. Four lanes now pass under this bridge with the 2009-12 addition of the lengthened Florida 56 off-ramp. 11/26/07
