Interstate 295 Delaware Archive


A concrete roadway with four overall lanes continued through the exchange with SR 9 on I-295/U.S. 40 north. April 2000

These guide signs were added to the SR 9 overpass in 2001 after the spans were rebuilt and painted blue. The signs replaced a "Welcome to the Delaware Memorial Bridge" sign affixed to the bridge. 06/02/12

I-295 south at U.S. 13/40 (Dupont Highway) prior to construction rebuilding the Farnhurst Interchange. 06/02/12

The ramp to U.S. 13 northbound was expanded during 2001-03 reconstruction. A U-turn ramp connects with U.S. 13 southbound. 03/19/04

I-295 east of the Farnhurst Interchange with U.S. 13 prior to the I-295 Southbound Reconstruction Project started in February 2016. 10/03/04

Two lanes proceeded west along Interstate 295 across U.S. 13 (Dupont Highway) toward the exchange with I-95 and I-495 north. 10/03/04

Overheads here, and on the succeeding two sign bridges were the last remaining signs displaying Delaware Turnpike trailblazers for I-95 south. They were all installed in 1995. 10/03/04

Interests to Delaware Park racetrack and slots were directed onto Interstate 95 south to Exit 4B (SR 58). 06/02/12

Interstate 295 expanded to four lanes west from Dupont Highway to the ramp for I-495 north. 10/03/04

Original concrete remained in use along Interstate 295 on the transition to I-95 south. This mileage sign was replaced after 2004. 03/27/04

A subsequent replacement of the mileage sign along I-295 south ahead of I-95 south removed Newport. 10/03/04
