Interstate 95 makes a northerly turn to cross high above the Brandywine Creek along a six-lane bridge. An on-ramp joins the freeway from Adams Street, connecting Delaware Avenue and Downtown with the freeway north toward Brandywine Hundred. 04/14/14

Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard westbound transitions into flyovers linking LOMA with Interstate 95 north and south. The ramps elevate over Madison, Monroe, and Adams Streets before joining the freeway. 04/14/14

Adams Street accompanies the east side of I-95 north from the Maryland Avenue off-ramp (Exit 6) north through to Brandywine Park. A trailblazer for I-95 stands just beyond SR 4, directing motorists from the state route west via Elm Street toward the 10th Street on-ramp. 04/14/14

SR 2, SR 48 and Delaware Memorial Bridge trailblazers posted at the intersection of Adams and Elm Street. SR 2 never meets I-95 directly, instead paralleling the Adams-Jackson Freeway many blocks to the northwest through Little Italy. 04/14/14

Adams Street north intersects SR 48 (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard) beyond this trailblazer for I-95. SR 48 partitions along a one-way couplet through the Hilltop and LOMA sections of the city. 04/14/14

A high flyover shuttles motorists from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and LOMA west to I-95 north above Adams and 2nd Streets. 04/14/14

Unmarked as SR 48, 2nd Street leads the state route west to SR 2 (Lincoln / Union Streets). An on-ramp joins Interstate 95 south nearby. 04/14/14

A northbound trailblazer for I-95 stands beyond 2nd Street as Adams Street continues northeast. 04/14/14

Adams Street north intersects SR 9 (4th Street) at an unmarked intersection. A second trailblazer references the forthcoming ramp at 10th Street. 04/14/14

Adams Street climbs onto the Appalachian Piedmont fall line beyond 4th Street. The next signal is located 7th Street, where the original off-ramp from I-95 north to Downtown was located. 04/14/14

Motorists departing Downtown Wilmington along Eighth Street turn onto Adams Street for Interstate 95 north. 04/14/14

With the advent of traffic from the Downtown off-ramp (Exit 7) from I-95 north, Adams Street expands to there lanes between 9th and 10th Streets. 04/14/14

The 10th Street on-ramp for I-95 north is the second of four linking Wilmington with the freeway heading north toward Philadelphia. 04/14/14
