The lane reduction favored Interstate 495 merging traffic as the main through route. "Exit Only" placards on the I-295 signs overlayed "Left Exit". These replacement signs were installed by 2006. 06/23/12

A series of new signs were manufactured for I-295 for the 2021-22 reconstruction of I-95 south from the Wilmington Viaduct to Exit 5. 08/25/21

The emergency closure of the I-495 bridge over the Christina River in 2014 resulted in the restriping of I-95 south at I-295 north to accommodate three through lanes. 09/27/14

One half mile east of Interstate 295 northbound. Sign changes made here in 2006 removed U.S. 13 for SR 141 south and spelled out Crossing for SR 7 north. 03/28/04

A flyover ramp carries drivers from I-495 north directly to the c/d roadway for the departing U.S. 202 south at SR 141. I-95 had one through lane here until the 2014 restriping due to the I-495 bridge closure. 06/23/12
