Delaware State Route 141 - South Archive


Murphy Road westbound at the former north end of SR 141 (Powder Mill Road) and U.S. 202 (Concord Pike) in Fairfax. 04/26/04

Leftover SR 141 shield assembly posted on Route 141 Spur north at Childrens Drive west and Powder Mill Road east. Powder Mill Road was the former alignment of SR 141 leading east to U.S. 202 and Fairfax. 12/23/06

A 2004-05 reconstruction project expanded the intersection of SR 141 (Barley Mill Road) with SR 100 (Montchanin Road). 04/26/04

This array of shields directed traffic to SR 52 south via Montchanin Road south and SR 52 north via the continuation of SR 100/141 south. These were replaced to accommodate a new side walk. 04/26/04

The junction shield assembly for SR 48 posted in the median of SR 100/141 was taken down after 2007 and never replaced. 04/26/04

The original layout of the Newport Freeway north end included design elements for an extension. Three lanes of concrete were laid for southbound traffic while the northbound lanes included a wide shoulder. 12/21/04

A sign bridge directed traffic onto the Newport Freeway as Centre Road split with SR 141 south to SR 2 (Kirkwood Highway) and Centerville Road. This assembly was taken down in 2007 with the project to convert Centre Road into a divided boulevard. 03/20/04

The southbound ramp from SR 141 south to SR 2 (Kirkwood Highway) utilizes the southernmost extent of Centre Road. Guide signs were formerly posted along the connection for SR 2. These were taken down during the 2009-completed project to reconstruct SR 141 north to SR 34. 03/20/04

A direct ramp connects Centre Road south with SR 2 (Kirkwood Highway) west to Newark. A shield assembly was added at the gore point in place of this guide sign. 03/20/04

Removed overhead for the continuation of Centre Road west to Greenbank Road. Motorists bound for SR 2 east to Elsmere are directed onto Greenbank Road via trailblazers now. 03/20/04

Former sign bridge posted at the Centre Road transition to Greenbank Road west. Centerville Road passes underneath Kirkwood Highway south as the former alignment of SR 141 to Belvedere while Greenbank Road connects with SR 2 via nearby Albertson Boulevard. 03/20/04

An end shield for SR 41 was affixed to a light post along the eastbound on-ramp carrying traffic from Kirkwood Highway to SR 141 south. SR41 was truncated west to Newport Gap Pike in 2015. 03/24/04

Several nondescript interchange sequence signs line SR 141 south from Prices Corner to Wilmington Manor. This overhead was replaced after 2007. 03/23/04

A new set of guide signs were posted along the Newport Freeway between 1999 and 2002. These overheads were again replaced after 2007. 03/23/04

Carbon copies of this set of signs included a space reserved for a missing SR 4 shield and the non-MUTCD compliant verbiage of Must Exit for Exit 5. 03/23/04
