The interchange sequence sign posted a half mile west of Exit 1 was replaced with a new sign giving separate 1 mile listings for Terminal Avenue and the Port of Wilmington. 03/20/04

A horizontal rule was also added between Twelfth Street and SR 3. The replacement sign was removed completely by October 2014. 12/23/12

Exit 1 looped away from I-495 north onto U.S. 13 at U.S. 13 Business. Rogers Road crosses over the freeway in the distance. 03/20/04

Interstate 495 north crosses over SR 9 and an abandoned railroad corridor on the quarter mile approach to Exit 2 with SR 9A (Terminal Avenue). 03/23/04

Riverfront attractions placards were added to Exit 2 signs in 2000 during the reconstruction project of I-95 north of Wilmington. 03/20/04

Approaching the Christina River Bridge along I-495 north, motorists passed under this interchange sequence sign posted one mile ahead of Exit 3 with 12th Street. 03/23/04

The 12th Street off-ramp (Exit 3) departs I-495 just north of the Christina River on the industrial east side of Wilmington. 03/23/04

Slotted signs for 12th Street along I-495 north, and SR 9A along I-495 south, over the Christina River Bridge were installed June 12, 2005. 10/05/14

A 2001 installed overhead for Twelfth Street saw the removal of the lighting fixtures at Exit 3. The exit lies one mile east of U.S. 13 (Northeast Boulevard). 03/23/04

One of the bubble shields for I-495 installed along northbound in 2000. The shield was missing by 2008. 03/20/04
