What's up with signage for U.S. 189? I know Utah is inconsistent with how it signs concurrent routes along interstates, so it's not surprising to not see 189 marked along I-80, but it is not marked along U.S. 40 in its concurrent segment either. At the junction of U.S. 40 and 189, westbound on 40 there is an arrow that points left (south) only for 189, not a double arrow indicating it goes straight with 40. The exit of U.S. 40-189 from I-80 only shows 40.

My Utah US 189 question is when will the final 4-lane section from south of Heber City to where the freeway begins as 189 heads to I-80 be built and what form will it take (if known)?

Rick
US 101 is THE backbone of the Pacific coast from Bandon OR to Willits CA.  Industry, tourism and local traffic would be gone or severely crippled without it being in functioning condition in BOTH states.

It's pretty logical: if US 189 doesn't overlap I-80, why sign it along what becomes a useless overlap with US 40?

I accept and respect your identity as long as it's not dumb shit like "identifying as a vaccinated attack helicopter".

corco

Since it's overlapped from Heber to the state line, Utah just considers it to end in Heber.

Is the end sign still there?

Wyoming thinks it does.

This is what I've got on the topic...

...and I note that the 2013 issue of the official state highway map still shows a 40/189 duplex between Heber and I-80.
