Farthest distance on off freeway mileage signs

I was looking at fellow road geek photos and flickr and notice this:

This got me thinking as 313 miles on an off freeway rural road for an upcoming city seems quite odd to me.
As I live in Florida the most you will see is this:

Of course there was one in New Smyrna Beach for Miami which is 35 miles before this sign as you head south along US 1 toward South Florida, but last I checked on GSV and it showed it being gone.  There is even one on US 19 Southbound in Monticello, FL for "St. Petersburg" that may be even more than 205 as well.

I was wondering what is the highest mileage signed that you know of that appears on US, state, or county roads that have no continuous freeways between the sign and the said city?
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

Nothing too special, especially out west, but this came to mind first for me:


But in reality, Burns and Ontario are the only control cities that make any sense. Millican is completely insignificant (as in, there's literally nothing there), and same goes for pretty much the other 262 miles.

This one's better though. On OR-31 in La Pine. 366 miles and 2 states away.

Why is it ODOT will post this so far away, but rarely use Boise as a control city on I-84? Actually, I-84's control cities suck in general. Sure, cities like Pendleton, The Dalles, Baker City and Ontario deserve to be on distance signs and such, but the primary control cities should be Portland (westbound) and Boise (eastbound). The signage at I-82 junction is also laughably bad. The primary destinations are Umatilla and Hermiston. Really? It should be some combination of Kennewick, Yakima, Seattle and Spokane (some of these are listed on secondary signs, at least). EDIT: Okay, it's actually Umatilla and Kennewick going westbound, but Umatilla and Hermiston eastbound.

This sign here is just so bad:


It should be, in my opinion:

Pendleton
Boise

I-82 West
Kennewick
Spokane

Sorry I went off topic, I'm pretty sure there a control city discussion somewhere here, but oh well.

Supporter of the construction of several running gags, including I-366 with a speed limit of 85 mph (137 km/h) and the Hypotenuse.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.

I-5 north of Sacramento has a sign saying "Portland 628". No photo, but you can find it on the main website.

US 6 has freeway segments, so it is disqualified.

He was asking about freeway connections that are continuous between the cities. Given 6 isn't a freeway at either end, it automatically qualifies before even giving it a thought.

The last sentence says it.  No continuous freeways between the said cities.  US 6 is not complete freeway from Provincetown to Bishop nor Long Beach back in the hey days.

I should have asked what is the farthest city listed on a mileage sign in your home state is that is not transited by continuous freeway.

Not the farthest, but I just noticed this one on US-20/26 outside of Notus, ID over the weekend:



I find this one odd because continuing on the same highway, over the border into Oregon past Nyssa, the only cities you get there are Ontario and Vale.


Nothing really wrong with those cities being there, but Bend should probably be there too, as it's the next major city on US-20.
