Why is stuff in Mexico so cheap?

I'm planning on visiting Coyame, Chihuahua, in February. According to their government website they have a cave system where the tour lasts about an hour and they have beautiful hot springs. One of the hot springs even has a small water slide. Both cost 30 MXN each, which is only $1.70 in USD. I know for an hour tour of a cave in my area would cost somewhere around $20 USD to do. In Pagosa Springs, CO, the hot springs cost about $15. I'm definitely going to do both when I visit. They also have a hotel in Coyame. I might stay the night there if it is pretty cheap to stay at. They have a website so I will have to email them to find out how much it costs per night.

I imagine it's the same reason why everything in the UK is so expensive - currency valuations.

Mexico is a poor country relative to the United States.  This is why we can get away with building factories there and paying people much less than we pay Americans.

No municipalities have to budget for snow removal.

I was looking at the Ojinaga weather and it is going to reach 74 degrees down there tomorrow. I'm kind of jealous. It is only going to get up to 24 tomorrow where I live and it is going to snow tonight. I could see myself eventually moving to Presidio, Texas. The only part that would suck would be the 100 degree summers; not that it's much better in Indiana where it's 90 degrees with lots of humidity. I could definitely live with 60's and 70's all winter long. In Indiana it seems like it is either scorching hot or freezing cold. At least if I lived in Presidio I could go kayaking on the weekends through some neat canyons, soak in some hot springs, or go hike in the nearby national parks on the US and Mexican sides.
