Hey 1, you forgot about me, though I can understand that since my username isn't as obvious as the other ones posted. I named myself after the concurrency of highways 7 and 8 between Stratford and Kitchener, ON.

Here's a picture for Hwy 7/8 near New Hamburg, ON

I'll post this one taken from the 400 as "route93". The proper names are highway 93 and county road 93, but some people might say route 93.

Here you go:

11:10 eastern and no challenge posted?

How about this one...not sure if we'll get any photos:

April 17: Post any road sign that is a route number that is the same number as the area code it is in.

I don't have a CURRENT example of one, but up until 1999, Florida SR-407 was in area code 407.  In that year, however, the  Space Coast got a new area code: 321 (get it?).

hotdogPi

From alpsroads: All of Maine uses area code 207.

No luck for Louisiana.

225: No highway.
318: In 337. (Was in 318 originally, but in the part that later became 337.)

Apparently Mississippi 601 doesn't exist either.

Alabama just misses out on this one.

State Route 205 was in Area Code 205 until 1998. It's just over the border in Area Code 256 (which has AL 255, but there's no AL 256). There's no Route 334, no 938, and 659 (if it's even used) would sort of match the so-called secret number for I-59.

Ontario highway 807 (now renumbered as highway 622) is in the 807 area code of Northwestern Ontario. Here's a photo from Cameron Bevers' website TheKingsHighway.ca

MNHighwayMan

In Minnesota, only area codes 218 and 952 have corresponding routes: however, area code 218 is all of northern Minnesota, while US-218 is in the southeast, while 952 is an unsigned route also not in the correct area code (651). The other area codes (320, 507, 612, 651, 763) have never had corresponding routes.

In Iowa, only area code 319 ever had a corresponding route, but that former route was in the southwest part of the state, while the area code is in the east/southeast.

There are a few that come close in my area, but none I'm aware of that matches.  The area codes for Long Island are 516 and 631, but CR 516 and CR 631 are in New Jersey.  There is NY 347 on Long Island and NJ 347 in South Jersey, but 347 is an area code for the outer boroughs of New York City.

There is probably a CR 609 somewhere within the 609 are code, but that would be the only example in NJ, downstate NY, or CT.

Unless you count 212th Street in Manhattan as a "numbered route".

(there was a thread about this at one point...)
If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

April 18, 2017: show some outsized sign gantries that support only one sign.

This one in Lake Mary, FL, spans 6 lanes, an entrance ramp, and a median...all told around 235 feet.  For one BGS.
Can anyone beat that?

This one has been around as long as I can remember, and I've always wondered why they bothered building a full sign bridge.

There used to be a long cantilever truss for an exit gore sign on the Thruway eastbound at Exit 39, but it was removed during the 2008 reconstruction between exits 39 and 40. Since Street View isn't great, here's a picture on Doug's Flickr.

There are a couple current and former ones on I-690 as well.  Here's one at Exit 4 westbound. At the other end of I-690, there used to be a gantry on the ramp from I-481 northbound.  If I-690 had been completed, I assume this gantry would have more on it. The sign has since been moved to the bridge in the background.  Lastly, there used to be a sign (photo 1, photo 2) for the Exit 6 ramp just before the Exit 7 ramp.  The back of the gantry can be seen on the left in this photo.
