We're getting very close to 300; if we advance the numbers on schedule we will get there on Sunday. I didn't get any comment on my idea to revise the schedule so I am reposting it now:

I'm really starting to think that we don't need to accelerate the game as much at the high numbers like I was planning. So I am proposing a new schedule:

301-1000: Advance after 10 hours. (This stretch of the game would last about 10 months.)
1001-3000: Advance after 2 hours. (This stretch would last about 6 months.)
3001+: Advance for each post. (For example, if you post 3001, and your next number is 3004, you have to wait three posts before posting 3004.)

If we don't adopt the new schedule then numbers will advance by 5 every 20 hours starting with 301-305.

I'd like to see this schedule used, at least to see how it goes.  I am guessing once we get into the upper 400s, we might want to move along more quickly, but I think for a while advancing every 10 hours would work well for quite a while.

I'm going to be in prime time during the 400s, so I'm fine with going 10 hours for 301-500 and then seeing where everyone is at 500.

I think it's going to get a little confusing, but sure...why not?

I think the 10 hours sounds good at least for the 300s. I'm essentially out after 400 barring some sort of road trip well out of state, so it doesn't matter much to me after that.

jbnv

Looks like we have agreement for the following schedule:

* 301-500: Numbers advance after 10 hours.
* 501+: Let's see.

I have some more plays to make.

Was there a decision on advancing 3 numbers at a time, since the post limit is three, or advancing 5, but playing catch-up on any missing numbers?

After 1000, if you ignore the thread for a day, you're off by twelve or more...

jbnv

Actually, by the current rules, if you miss a day after 1000 you'll be off by at least 20. :) The three-pictures-per-post limit will still be active, but remember that you can post again after someone else posts. It will be a challenge to find a sweet spot so that the people with few high numbers don't get bored and stop playing, but the people with a lot of high numbers (like me) won't have trouble keeping up.

Edit #2: As far as number advancement past 300 goes, I don't really care how it's done. At the moment, I have like half a dozen 300s and three 400s. Obviously I'd prefer something a little faster but I'll leave it up to everyone else who probably have more numbers than I do.
