Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

First time I remember seeing a state boundary listed on a destination sign like that.

I've seen them a few places, like at the west end of US 64 at Teec Nos Pos. I agree it's weird, since no one is really going to the state line as their final destination.

New Church --> Heber City, UT

Virginia does it frequently.

Sometimes it's a useful intermediate destination. For the Virginia sign, it indicates how long you'll have to wait before you can pull your radar detector out of the trunk and start using it again. :)

Arcadia -> Alviso on US-101 in Mountain View

(Disclaimer: Alviso was a city until 1968, but is now part of San Jose, CA as a neighborhood. The rules do not explicitly prohibit neighborhood names.)

I think "neighborhood names" aren't OK, but Alviso is more than that. Certainly something showing on a freeway sign is more a "community" (even if unincorporated) than a "neighborhood". Where the difference comes into play is a state like Delaware, where there are official signs on non-freeway routes (especially around Wilmington) that point you to every little subdivision along the way. I did not photograph those for this game.
