Use this topic to report any errors found on AARoads guide pages in one convenient place.

This map misspells "Edmond".

(Also, SH-152 was rerouted onto the Airport Road freeway, which was extended. But that's just out-of-date, not an error.)

These maps were made years ago when I had more time for such endeavors. Like with my Richmond map, and several others that are out of date, they likely will remain the way they are. I simply do not have enough time to update or correct the maps unfortunately.

Oops, found another error on the same page (the I-240 in OK page): The Interstate 240/U.S. 62/Oklahoma 3 panel features Interstate 35 and 40 control cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. The control city for I-40 eastbound (and thus shown on I-240) is Fort Smith, not Fort Worth!

About the Belgium page on aaroads:
http://europe.aaroads.com/belgium/index.htm

Quote
A-roads are motorways which connect major cities and international destinations. These are not always built as limited access facilites, and may include traffic lights and grade crossings.

Which A-roads feature traffic lights and grade crossings in Belgium? I have never seen one, they're all with limited access and grade-separated intersections. Some E-roads do feature them, but not all E-roads are necessarily freeways.

I am having trouble loading the following photo of I-490 west in Rochester, NY:

http://www.northeastroads.com/new_york400/i-490_wb_exit_017_02.jpg

My browsers all say that it is a 640x480-pixel picture, but all I get is a small strip.

The file never fully loaded during an ftp session. Try it now, it will work correctly.

The A12 between Antwerp and Brussel is the only one I can think of off the top of my head but I swear there was another one I was on. It may have been an R- though.

I wish someone would submit more stuff for that Europe page :)

I think the A12 is an exception. R-roads (Ring Roads) are not a motorway/freeway-grade road necessarily.

When I first read this I thought it was about A roads in the UK. Over here nearly all A roads have traffic lights as they are general purpose roads. The numbering system in the rest of Europe generally has A roads as freeways with the A standing for Autoroute, Autobahn, Autosnelweg etc, whereas the UK uses M for such roads. Hungary and Ireland also use M for freeways.

E roads are a Europewide numbering scheme but the UK doesn't show them on signs because as we're an island they aren't relevant for use over here.

Ah well, then I suppose the statement is less an error than an exercise in semantics.
I loved the A12 btw, for it being so old and non-standard.

How did you pronounce the "Craeybeckxtunnel"?  :-D

ahhh Belgium...
A good friend of mine is from Bruges, he lives here now but we are planning on going back in October to visit friends. I only ever go to Rotterdam, which I think is great, but next time I want to visit northern areas of the Netherlands. If you find any more errors on the Europe area of aaroads, please PM me. I need to upload more of it. I'm sort of the manager over that area because Alex is far too busy with North America. I would love to have more comprehensive coverage.

There is a town in Louisiana that my aunt used to live in called Zwolle, the 80s movie with Dolly Parton called "Steel Magnolias" was filmed there. They pronounce it "Zuh-Wolly". It used to make me cringe.

If you need some pics, I have a massive amount of European roadpics on my Flickr account, about 12,500 of them.

Belgium is extensively covered, as are the non-motorways in the Netherlands. I also have a significant amount of Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and France covered.

Awesome, I added you on flickr. I dont post a ton of road pictures, they mostly go here. I would love to collaborate with you on Europe if I ever get 5 minutes away from work and school :)
I will write you on flickr since we're off topic here now.

I sent up the missing photo, thanks.

On the https://www.aaroads.com/midwest/i-076wa_oh.html page it says:

QuoteInterstate 76 Ohio Shield on westbound Interstate 80 after the Eastgate Toll Plaza. It seems that most, if not all, state name shields in Ohio appear on the Ohio Turnpike mainline or on surface streets approaching the freeways. Photo taken 5/21/02.

The turnpike is still I-76 at this point so it should say something like "on the westbound turnpike after the Eastgate" or something like that.

I was looking through the Hampton Roads page tonight, and noticed several erroneous bits of information, nothing major though...

QuoteFurther east a reversible High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) roadway exists between Interstates 264 and 564 in eastern Norfolk and western Virginia Beach. South of Interstate 264, the highway carries six plus two HOV-2 lanes through to the Battlefield Boulevard (Virginia 168 Business) interchange. However construction is underway (2009) to rebuild the Battlefield Boulevard interchnange and expand Interstate 264 to include a local/express configuration.
The Battlefield Boulevard interchange project has been completed (and is a sight to behold!) as of summer 2009, and in the second sentence I believe that should be Interstate 64.

Then under the Western Freeway section:
QuoteAlthough not actually part of the Interstate system, Virginia 164 links Interstate 664 & the Hampton Roads Beltway with downtown Portsmouth in the vicinity of the Elizabeth River Tunnel.
I've never heard it referred to as the Elizabeth River Tunnel, but rather solely as the Midtown Tunnel (labeled as on maps and referred to by locals). It also might be a good idea to mention that Virginia 164 terminates at the Martin Luther King Fwy. just before said tunnel in Portsmouth, as referenced in the U.S. Highway 58 section.

And under U.S. Highways:
QuoteU.S. 13 utilizes the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, a 17.6 mile crossing of the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. The bridge-tunnel carries a $10 toll for each direction for all passenger vehicles.
The toll was raised to $12 each direction (return trip free with receipt from past 24 hours) at least a year ago.

And nitpicking now,
QuoteU.S. 60 travels the city streets of Newport News and Hampton via Warwick Boulevard, 25th & 26th Streets, and Kecoughton Road before merging onto Interstate 64 at Exit 267.
The proper spelling is Kecoughtan Road. I should know, it's also the name of my high school.  ;-)

Agentsteel53 and I had a discussion about the old outlined US 101 shields on the forums and I noticed the following erroneous notation at California @ AARoads...

State:  California
Route:  U.S. 101 Southbound
Section: Santa Clara County
Exit: Rengstorff Avenue (Exit #400A)

Current Description: "Southbound U.S. 101 reaches Exit 400A, Rengstorff Avenue and Amphitheatre Parkway. These signs have since been replaced, and the outline U.S. 101 shield that dates to the original Bypass U.S. 101 alignment is now gone. Photo taken 11/27/05."

Just wanted to let you know that the Rengstorff Ave exit and U.S. 101 pull through signs are still there and have not been replaced.  There were a number of signs replaced along U.S. 101 in northern Santa Clara County but this one was not one of them.

If I owned a dam and decided to donate it to charity, would I be giving a dam? I'm sure that might be a first because no one really gives a dam.

On your new Interstate 581 Virginia page, the photo for https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/virginia500/i-581_nb_exit_004e_02.jpg doesn't match up with the thumbnail. It looks like you didn't upload the new photo. Also, the caption for https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/virginia500/i-581_nb_exit_004w_01.jpg says the picture was taken 07/24/04, but it doesn't look like a July photo.

Two newer images did not get uploaded, those are now in place. The photograph date was not updated either, but this is now also fixed.

Also, on your first Interstate 81 Virginia page, (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=i0081nava), you seem to have the 07/16/05 and 06/17/05 dates mixed up. For example, the https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/virginia081/i-081_nb_exit_007_01.jpg and https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/virginia081/i-081_nb_exit_007_02.jpg appear to have been taken on the same day (the weather is exactly the same, and the exact same truck is in front of you), yet they claim different dates. Additionally, the caption for https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/virginia081/i-081_nb_exit_054_04.jpg says "Interstate 91"; it should be "Interstate 81."

I have noted that of the 35 posts you have made on the forum, at least 13 are directly criticizing the webmaster for trivial errors, with a tone that is best described as condescendingly robotic.  Precisely one mention of "I like the photos"; otherwise the posts are simply lists of the clerical errors, not of any significance as far as the intent and the presentation of the site are concerned.

13 out of 35.  Shape up; that ratio is appalling.

Send Alex a private message about the corrections, if you so insist, but the fact that you are allowed to make public posts on this forum is not an invitation to continuously point out, in an inhumanly belittling manner, the deficiencies of the main site that hosts it.
