^ Is that an officially-posted road sign? There is not a road in the photo, so it's hard to tell.

The point of this game has always been to focus on guide signs that more or less comply with the MUTCD (or the regional equivalent), thus the ban on handmade and advertising signs. Ornate welcome and tourism signs posted by local governments were never meant to be included in the game, but I didn't want to make the rules too restrictive so as to not disallow odd situations like a DOT actually posting a hand-lettered sign (like the Mexican one kphoger posted at the very beginning of the thread). And I don't want to add so many rules so that people forget them, or that it kills interesting plays.

For now I'm not going to actually revise the rules or void any plays, but when posting think twice about whether it's in the spirit of the game if it's not green and white.

We've just ignored the exclamation marks, when I played that name before (nothing wrong, in this game, with re-playing a place name).

BTW, I went off A-85 into that town, hoping to score some postcards to send back to my nieces. No joy. Aside from the unusual name, nothing exceptional about that town.
