If you could talk to any famous person, dead or alive, who would you talk to?

Me, I would want to sit down and talk with prominent political figures on both sides of the aisle and get their opinions on the current administration in Washington. Folks like Ronald Reagan, Barry Goldwater and Paul Harvey come to mind for the right wing

Teddy Roosevelt seemed like an interesting and over the top personality who probably was worth having a conversation just about all the stuff that went on in his life before he was president.

Instead of those three folks, I would enjoy speaking with Richard Nixon about today's scene. Specifically, I'd ask whether or not he'd prefer Twitter over a taping system.

Dwight Eisenhower, the man behind the Interstate system. Maybe that way interstates like 49 and 69 would be already done if I told him if they would be constructed in the future.

I can't find it through the Search function, but I recall we did a similar thread some time back about "Name one person from the past, present, and future you would like to meet."

Adlai Stevenson, Richard J. Daley, John F. Kennedy, Dan Ryan and Jane Byrne would be my top choices for obvious reasons.

Same.  I'd be very curious what he'd think about all the changes that have happened (switch to block grants/end of top-down planning, freeway revolt and removals, current trends towards demonizing automobiles in some circles, etc.).

He's not famous to all of you, but in my life he was a towering figure: I'd like to be able to talk to my father again (he died on July 8).

The more irreverent side of my personality would like to speak to Jesus so I could say, "Jesus Christ, superstar, do you think you're who they say you are?"
"You know, you never have a guaranteed spot until you have a spot guaranteed."
—Olaf Kolzig, as quoted in the Washington Times on March 28, 2003,
commenting on the Capitals clinching a playoff spot.

"That sounded stupid, didn't it?"
—Kolzig, to the same reporter a few seconds later.

Sorry to hear about your recent loss. I lost my dad Sep. 2014 and he'd be the first person I'd want to talk to as well.

If the conversation was to be one just for fun, I'd go with Joe Namath.  He was the sports cool guy of the Sixties and later on always came across as a classy gentleman.

Jesus. We'd finally get some answers to the infamous question, "WWJD?"

Beyond that, probably Ronald Reagan. I'd love to hear his thoughts on the evolution of the conservative movement.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

I'm incredibly sorry for your loss

And your second one reminds me of something Larry King was asked one time, if he had the opportunity to interview God.....Larry said he would ask God, "did you have a child?" And if the answer was no......CHAOS!

Sorry to hear about that. I lost my father at a young age, and never got a chance to talk to him.

Me? George Carlin. I'd love to hear how he'd rip Donald Trump a new one!

Jesus would be tricky, considering I speak neither Hebrew nor Aramaic.

I'd probably go with John Adams or Thomas Jefferson.

Mr. Rogers.  He's the kind of person I need to talk to in this stage of my life.
