this a replacement for the N "guess that X" threads ... road, bridge, stop sign, overpass, aerial map, municipal meeting minute, etc etc.

Rules are: post a photo and identify what needs to be guessed.  I will start.  Give me the name of the road from which the photo is taken!  The bridge is easy to guess... but where was I standing when I took the photo??

I remember when you posted that photo I looked up the island to see where it may have been taken. Looking at a map is cheating so I won't guess but I'd be interested to know where it was taken. I would think that you were more toward the center of the island than the photo would indicate.

Interstate 80 the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge from Yuerba Buena Island. Looking west!

agentsteel53

yep, which street?  it's a very distinct view.

ever notice how damn near every Bay Bridge photo is taken from one of about 3 vantage points?  that's because most of Yerba Buena island is covered with ... yerbas.  Buena ones for sure, but they obstruct the vision nicely.

To merge the old games into one thread, and to resurrect a fun one, I'll start the guess the infrastructure game once again.  The rules are that only roads, tunnels, and bridges, or any scenes including one of them can be posted in this thread.  Anything else goes in the off topic forum.

To start, here's a nice tunnel.  I want to know what town and county its in, and what roads travel along it.

The photographer could easily have been a passenger in a LHD car in a country where traffic circulates on the right.  Nor does the picture show that the tunnel carries two-way traffic.  In the US double white stripes are used in tunnels (e.g. the Fort McHenry Tunnel) to discourage lane changing.

There are other post-1945 bored A-road tunnels in the UK, including some of the tunnels on the A55 in North Wales.

All in all, the guesses were either lucky or made use of additional information, e.g. detailing of the tunnel finish.

Not the intention at all!  It is still remarkable to find the correct tunnel out of the multitude of possible choices in multiple countries.

Anyway, austrini, it's now your turn to post an image.

Ok.. What street does the overpass carry?

for extra points. What highway is this? What exit is that coming up? Where is it?

mightyace

OK.  A wild guess here.  Is the picture from Houston, TX?

From https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?action=help;page=post:

(img width=48 height=48)
http://somesite/image.gif
(/img)

Replace the () with [].  Recommend something like 600x480.

mightyace

Or, if you host your image from flick, picasa, etc., you can select the size you want to link with and it will resize it for you.
