At first I thought 270, 495, 70

but I forgot 370

so then 270,370,495 since I'm closer to 495 than 70 according to I-270.

But as the crow flies I-70 is closer if measuring between me and I-70 around New Market MD instead of Frederick.

So 270, 370, 70

I-44 is the closest, but the next two are much further away.

2. I-49 (west about 65 miles)

3. I-40 (south about 120 miles, I-70 is a close 4th)

Same, but different order:
1.  I-49, just 6.9 miles
2.  I-40, 45.0 miles
3.  I-44, 82.0 miles

I-94 (6 miles)
I-41 (also 6 miles)
I-43 (about 20 miles, though it seems much farther and I almost never have use for it)

Since I-94 and I-41 are the same, here's a bonus....
I-294 (30 miles, though it seems closer because I use it quite a lot)

I like this type of threads, in which I have a definite answer even if it is 3250 miles away from me :sombrero:.

75 and 64 are the obvious first two for me, but I'd have to pinpoint my location on a map and then do one of those circle-thingys to figure out the third one. Possibilities are 71, 265, and 640.

I guess you mean a drawing compass.

The measure distance feature on Google maps did the trick for me.  I kinda did spin it around like a compass.

There's a circle tool here. It doesn't take into account the curvature of the earth, but for small distances, it shouldn't matter.

I had to look at a map for this one, but:

I-75
I-10
I-295

I keep forgetting how close Gainesville is to Jacksonville, probably because of how inconvenient it is to get there compared to Tampa, Orlando, and Tallahassee.

In aerial distance, the ranking is I-435, I-49, and I-35.  In driving distance, I-35 is significantly closer than I-49, because there's almost no way to get to I-49 from here that doesn't involve backtracking, and the ways that don't, require significant distances of travel on surface streets.

In order by distance as the crow flies:

1 - I-97
2 - I-195
3 - I-95

All within 6.5 miles.  Honorable mention to I-695 and I-895, both under 10 miles.

Center lane merges are the most unsafe thing ever, especially for unfamiliar drivers.

Control cities should be actual cities/places that travelers are trying to reach.
