Started working on locating traffic signals across my home state of Michigan. The counties with a number are finalized and include all signalized intersections in that county, using Google Maps and other geographic sources to locate each signal. Blank counties, such as Kent and Wayne, will obviously take much longer and I plan to start by only documenting intersections in MDOT's jurisdiction (state trunklines and US routes).

I have a notepad of each intersection. Wish me luck.

Lockdown really getting to ya, eh? :poke:
If you ever feel useless, remember that CR 504 exists.

You can probably do this a lot faster if you can get a GIS layer from MDOT that lets you query by county.

Some minor corrections:
Lake County has zero stoplights (US-10/M-37/Washington St is a flashing red/yellow)
Mason County has 12 stoplights (NB US-31/US-10 just west of Brye Rd is a flashing red/yellow)
On Google Maps, Wexford County is shown as having a stoplight just south of M-55 along M-115 (that one doesn't exist, but there is a stoplight (correctly mapped) at M-55/M-115)

It would be fun to do this for my home state if I had the time.

Whew good luck! If I ever tried to do this it'll be the one and only time I'd wish I lived in Delaware  :-D

Note that this is just state signals, so anything operated by a municipality or county won't show up.  That is most notable with the absence of NYC.

Wow! Is that something that's publicly available?
The best place to look would seem to be here... but I can't seem to find anything for traffic signals.

Reminds of me of when I tried to map all the span wire signals in Missouri. It's here if anyone's interested.

(Side note; if anyone knows of another span wire intersection on MO not marked on the map, PM me).

Our family's cabin is in western Mackinac County....looks like it's probably 75 miles from the nearest traffic signal, presumably in the Soo.
