Since April 24, the high every day has been between 61 and 85 degrees, and the low every night has been between 38 and 62 degrees.  This has been an AMAZING spring so far.

Thunderstorms are coming next week, though, so I need to mow the back yard this evening.  I've been putting it off for a couple of weeks because we have grass seed growing.

Another spring day, another soaking rainstorm. About 2 inches have fallen so far, but portions of rural Wharton County to my west have received over 11 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. Some of the rural areas that just got hit with flooding a couple weeks ago have gotten at least 5 inches.

We had a few days of very warm weather (mid-80s highs) at the end of last week in Salt Lake, but moisture increased just enough to allow for some thunderstorms to develop over the mountains in the afternoons over the weekend. Saturday's storms did not produce much in the way of rain and didn't really make it far off the mountains, but did produce some rather gusty winds. Yesterday was a bit more exciting, with multiple severe thunderstorm warnings issued for various cells that produced hail up to quarter size in some Wasatch Front locations. Some were even rotating at times - a rather rare sight in northern Utah. The weirdest thing about yesterday's storms is they were all moving to the northwest because of where the low pressure system was positioned - usually, severe storms here tend to move to the northeast or sometimes southeast.

Today we're once again looking at scattered thunderstorms, although not really expecting anything severe. A few days of dry, warmer weather seem likely before another storm system moves in towards the end of the week.

Another rainy, gloomy day with is antithetical to Denver weather.  Looks like we finally get to see the sun again on Wednesday.

Ok yikes. Yesterday was just the appetizer for the rest of the week. Over a foot of rain was reported today near Beaumont and Lake Charles, and much more rain is expected to fall over the next 3 days. Rainfall in the Houston area may get over 10 inches this week. Not good.

Currently partly sunny and 85 degrees, likely the hottest it will get all week. The next round comes in a couple of hours. (fingers crossed)

And here's comes summer! Highs in the upper 80s with little chance of rain. I suspect with 5 days of temps near 90 a stray thunderstorm may development. I'll let you know

Currently bracing for round 3 of this flood event. A ferocious line of storms generated several tornadoes, and torrential rainfall rates, causing I-10 to become flooded near Flatonia. That line will congeal with Gulf moisture and rock the Houston area, which I'm guessing will lead to massive flash flooding where the rain bands stall out.

On the plus side, the high temperature won't reach 85 degrees again till May 27.

EDIT: Now under a Tornado Watch until 2 AM and a Flash Flood Watch until Thursday.
