No straight arrows when new roads are paved

So when looking at Evans and Martinborough roads, there is no straight arrows. I see the same thing over hereaswell. It's this just a new thing that NCDOT came up with or does it have to do with common sense, I guess? :hmmm:

Oklahoma rarely uses straight arrows. Usually the only painted arrows are for turn lanes.

Yep, I'm starting to see more of those around here. Even I don't really see the straight or right arrows anymore.
