Because why not.

Though I swear there are a lot of current/former residents on here already, so there might not be a lot that needs to be asked.

Any stupid questions will be met with passive-aggressive side-eye.

Is the Mall of America a fun place? What about the state fair?

Why "duck, duck, grey duck"?

Because it's more educational than goose. You actually have to know a bunch of colors.  We're a smarter bunch! (Native Minnesotan here).

Meh, and yes.

I saw an interesting theory that it was part of the evolution of the state's Scandinavian immigrants. When they played duck, duck, grey duck in Swedish and Norwegian, they played it as "gray duck" which carried over when future generations started playing in English.

Surly, Fulton, Hamms, or Summit?

I rarely drink, but I liked some of Surly's stuff.

Is Minnesota as hung up on their former northerliestness (thanks, Alaska) as Florida is on their southerliestness (thanks, Hawaii)?

We just moved the goalposts to being the northernmost of the lower 48,

And a 20-minute doorstep conversation :-)

Was there ever an I-135 or I-294 contemplated?

Have you ever been to the biggest ball of twine in Minnesota?
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

Not a 294 specifically (MN 294 was a number in use for many years, though not anymore), but there were proposals for an outer Twin Cities beltway. Maybe I-894 had that gotten beyond the pie-in-the-sky planning.

What's your order at Sven and Ole's?
"That's just like... your opinion, man."

On a scale of 1-10, how good are the cheese curds at the state fair?

Oktoberfest pizza (seasonal). My Sister's Place's pizza is probably better in Grand Marais.

Have you visited Mitch Hedberg's grave and left him a receipt for a donut? (I plan to do this someday.)

Also, in general, what makes Minnesota's state fair different from that of others' states?  If you told me it's more extravagant and all-around better, I would believe you, because I've been to Minnesota's State Fair and it's GREAT.  However, I've never been to any other state fair so I don't know how it compares.

Pizza Luce or Pizzeria Lola?

I like Luce better. Had Lola for the first time this summer, and while it was good, I didn't understand the hype and I left feeling like I could have gotten a bigger, better pizza elsewhere for the money I spent on one pizza at Lola.

I haven't done the Mitch Hedberg thing.

The thing about our state fair is how unavoidable it is. You can't turn on the TV or radio in MSP without hearing about it because every local media outlet relocates there for the entire 12 days, and large numbers of outstate media sends media teams to the fair for at least one day of it. Pretty much every famous person in the Twin Cities, sports figures, politicians, musicians, whoever, end up there for appearances. Even people who don't really want to go just suck it up and go. Local business "state fair specials" are everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if only Texas's fair is on the same level.
